Ok, here is the problem

I have several in-flight processes that are in an "In-ERROR" state. The activity they are stuck in is actualy a UPES activity, however, even UPES steps need a program associated with it or else it won't start. The program is defined but not associated with the process. Does anyone know if their is a way to update the runtime database and associate a program with this activity?

This is the error I am getting when it attmpts to run.

Thanks.

Hi Dave,

From what I understand, how were you able to import the FDL into runtime in the first place with out associating a Program to an activity? I believe fmcibie would not allow you to import it.

Dave:

I agree with Ratan's comments. I don't see how this is possible unless there is a bug.

Can you email me the FDL that you imported originally?

I am sure you know how to get the items out of the Running state, but just in case, use the Thin client monitor, then use force restart.

i guess even if u force restart it will still go back to Inerror state.
i don't think u can add program to an inflight process using fmcibie.
i believe every time u import an FDL in to workflow runtime database it creates a new version, it doesn't actually overwrite the old process model. That's why the inflight process instance still refers to the old process model. may be One way to associate the process instance to refer the new process model is to change data in the database though extremely dangerous and there are no foreign key constraints on the workflow database , so u may easily change values and ends up messy.

IBM may provide some utility to do this if u r a customer

thx
