The PPT downloaded from the site MQ Presentation (slide 13, notes) says -

MQSeries is NOT:
- An application execution environment like CICS, IMS, DB2 Stored Procedure etc
- A replacement for the MDI Gateway or DB2 Connect or FTP

Could anyone explain the first statement ... "application execution environment"

Thanks!

I am assuming them to mean that 'transactions' don't actually execute in the MQ address spaces like CICS, DB2 & IMS.

MQSeries is 'merely' a method of assuring the transfer of information between MQ enabled 'applications' regardless of (well.. almost) the platform.

At least that is what I think they meant.
