Hi ,
We have an environment where websphere from 2k server talks to workflow server in AIX. All of a sudden we received timed out errors from WAS. When checked the logs found that the we are getting AMQ7469 error in the MQSeries logs in the AIX server.
The error message reads as follows
"The log space for the queue manager is becoming full. One or more long-running transactions have been rolled back to release log space so that the queue manager can continue to process requests."
Can any of u help me solve this.
This is very urgent.
thanks |

You have transactions spanning more messages, or bigger messages, or staying active longer than your logs can handle.
You need to either commit your transactions more often, or increase your log file space. |

This Queue manager is the internal Queue manager of MQSeries Workflow server.
Hence the messages are MQSeries Workflow internal messages. The number of messages processed is around 70 msgs per second. We have at present 3 Primary and 3 Secondary log files.
If I need to increase the number of log files or the size of log files, how do I go about doing it.

I have never run out of log spaces so I may be wrong.
If you have such heavy load you can do a couple of things.
1. When you create an MQWF configuration, you select linear logging instead of circular logging.
2. Create a queue manager of your own with enough log space and with logging of your wish (circular or linear). Use this Queue Manager for your MQWF configuration.
For an existing queue manager I don't know how to increase the log file size or increase the number of logs. somebody else please comment on this.
You should better post this in MQSeries Installation/Configuration forum for better replies.
