I have trouble passing an XML document containing UTF-8 encoded characters through MQ. All of the file is ASCII except one UTF-8 encoded character X"C595". After putting and getting through MQ it is converted to X"C53F" and my parser complains:
"invalid byte 2 of 2-byte UTF-8 sequence (0x3f)".
Attempts to set message.characterSet to 1208 (UTF- or 1200 (Unicode) lead to an EOF exceptions.

I have previously been hit by this and the latest MA88 contains fixes that work on my system.
Just to verify that you have the latest MA88 on your system (the latest installer DOESN'T if you already have MA88 installed), what's the date and file size of your com.ibm.mq.jar. It should be 193,952 bytes and August 28, 2:02:20 PM (but allow for time zones. I'm PST).
Cheers,
