I am using the Websphere MQ 5.3 for AIX. I have defined the following in my MQ QManager

1. QLOCAL named QUEUE1
2. Server Connection channel named JAVA_CHANNEL

I have defined a queue connection factory in my JMSAdmin with the following props

InitCtx> display qcf(Interop_QCF)

FAILIFQUIESCE(YES)
HOSTNAME(10.75.246.140)
PORT(1414)
QMANAGER(Interop_QMGR)
USECONNPOOLING(YES)
CCSID(819)
TEMPMODEL(SYSTEM.DEFAULT.MODEL.QUEUE)
MSGBATCHSZ(10)
TRANSPORT(CLIENT)
SYNCPOINTALLGETS(NO)
MSGRETENTION(YES)
RESCANINT(5000)
POLLINGINT(5000)
VERSION(2)
CHANNEL(JAVA_CHANNEL)

I get the following exception when i run my program

Exception in thread "main" javax.jms.JMSException: MQJMS2005: failed to create M

Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Your definitions look ok

Is the QMGR running? If yes then is the listener running? If yes then is it running on port 1414?

Try printing out the 'Linked Exception' from the intial exception.

Then you will be able to see the actual MQSeries Completion and Reason codes.

Cheers,

I had the same problem on Windows.
I solved it by setting the CCSID on 852 when creating QCF, since this error actually meant that queue manager does not support 819.
I got this using MQIVP in Tools/Java/base directory.

Hope this helps.
