I have got channels (normal channel not cluster) between OS/390 queue managers and other queue managers outside the company. External queue managers are on AIX,AS/400 etc. I am not administrator of external queue managers. I have noticed for example the following messages on my OS/390 queue manager:+CSQX526E CSQXRESP +T1 CSQXRESP MESSAGE SEQUENCE ERROR FOR CRT.TO.ZAP1, SENT=11 EXPECTED=1. We receive a lot of +CSQX526E messages and after RESET of channel to expected sequence number the channel is normaly started. Before RESET it was in RETRY. A long time ago I noticed the same problem on MQSeries V1.2 and I was solving this problem with : CSQ4SUTL: SYSTEM CHANNEL MESSAGE REMOVAL UTILITY supplied by IBM. The utility removes double messages in SYSTEM.CHANNEL.SYNCQ. After this the problem was not solved, only the appearance of +CSQX526E was stopped for some time. Messages appears later. What to do here? |

Hi,
many times this error is seen on OS/390 because DEFINE CHANNEL ... REPLACE commands are present on CSQINPxx DD names. Every time the queue manager starts, these commands are read and the channels are redefined. This redefinition involves an initial value of 1 for the MSGSEQ. Please make sure that you do not have any DEFINE CHANNEL commands in your input datasets of your xxxxMSTR JCL.
The other reason for the sequence number being reset to 1 is a RESET CHANNEL command, but this is usually done consciously (and manually), so you might know that it happened.
Do I make any sense?
Cheers,
Stefan |
