I am having a problem while putting message into queue from mq client. When the message is very large(approx 2 MB) in size an MQ exception with reason code 2009 was thrown. But most of the times when I try to send the message no reason code or return code is given and the application does not go forward as if it got hanged. This occurs in the application where the "put message Queue" routine is called. Can anyone help me in resolving the problem?
2009 is an error that occurs when your connection to the queue manager is lost. As to why it happens with a specific message size I cannot say. I would check your server connector channel attributes for max message size and ensure that the channel is recieving traffic of that size.
If you are transporting messages that large or critcal it may be worth installing a queue manger on the local queue manager...
I would also check your code to ensure that it is handling errors like this properly. A 2009 should cause a reconnect to be issued. If the message is too large they you should get something more like a 2010
