        CommandBag.Options(-8,0) = -1;       //MQHB_UNUSABLE_HBAG
         CommandBag.Options(-8,1) = 1;      //MQCBO_ADMIN_BAG

Humm, I'll guess IBM's WMQ web site. Yeah, we have a winner. And Johnny tell him what he has won, "an all expense paid trip to sunny California, courtesy of Ping Master - the proud makers of the Internet Toaster, XML Tea Pot and the Java Brew Master"

Go to the IBM's WMQ site, click Library, then Manuals, then WMQ Platform Specific books and select WebSphere MQ Using the Component Object Model Interface.

Here's a direct link in case you get lost:

thanks Roger, but previously where I said "the COM redbook has nada" thats the same book you pulled out for your gameshow. like i said no examples of MQAI for COM..

starting to believe no one in the free world uses the COM interface for MQAI...

Well, the link that I gave you is not a RedBook. It appears that chapter 5 has what you are looking for (plus you need to reference WebSphere MQ Programmable Command Formats and Administration Interface - chapter 17)

Redbood.. Manual,...Tomato, Toma`to.. both show Chapter 5 exactly the same. thanks for the response.

Roger is it just me. or does anyone use the ActiveX interface for the MQAI?

i wish you could take a look at what I have so far and you would see what I'm talking about. Nothing coincides with the manuals, just feeling my way through it. You look pretty expreienced so maybe you would recognize what I'm tryin got do

thanks PM
