It is not the MQ client application that needs to support JSON CCDT files but rather the underlying installed MQ Client. The IBM MQ Client must be at v9.2 or higher to support JSON CCDT files.

The client is part of the server install. So yes, you can use it as an MQ Client for running RFHUtilC, but of course if you are running RFHUtil on the same machine as your queue manager, you don't need to use the client version, just use RFHUtil.

Cheers,

The server INSTALL includes the client code too - unless you chose not to install it. I am surprised by the post you refer to as I believe the client was in the server install even back then. But even if it wasn't back in 2007, it certainly is now (again, unless you chose not to install that part).

Check to see whether you have an mqic.dll (or equivalent for your platform, not sure what you are running on).

Or, just set up an MQSERVER environment variable, or a CCDT file, and run the program and we can diagnose from there.

Cheers,
Morag
