Hi quick question,
Is the scope of a floating IP in RDQM exposing a single IP for INBOUND connections only? How about outbound connections from one of the nodes in the ha cluster? For example if node 1 is primary for a RDQM queue manager and sets up a SNDR channel connecting to an external party, is the expectation that setting up a floating IP entails that the receiver side will see that single floating IP as the source of the connection? Or will the receiver side still see the primary node's ip as source of the connection?
Hope this makes sense |

In terms of firewall rules, a receiver channel on a qmgr that is outside the RDQM will require the Source to be the of all the RDQM servers, not the floating IP. If the IPs are in a small range, they can be covered by a CIDR.
The same principle applies to MQ in AIX HA clusters and Windows MSCS clusters. _________________ Glenn |

You might want to put the VIP in the local address field of the channel... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Setting the local address seemed to do the trick. Many thanks! |
