This question is really basic...

What is the specific reason why their exists an JDBC connection between the Configuration Manager and the Configuration Repository, while their exists an ODBC Connection between the Configuration Manager and the Message Repository

Config Mgr's source code is mix of Java and C/C++ code. Java part uses JDBC connection to connect to the Config DB and C++ code uses ODBC connection to connect to MRM db.
