Greetings....
in a sender-receiver pair, setting up TLS with SSL authentication set to "Required" is straightforward - just enter the corresponding labels on either side of the channel pair.
But for Cluster channels, only the CLUSRCVR can be set manually in such a way. CLUSSDR channels are generated automatically, and in large numbers. Will the auto-generated CLUSSDR channels automatically take the setting from the CLUSRCVR channel and populate the label field with corresponding label for that qmgr?
I'm surprised not to find a description about this in the documentation. Or am I missing something here? _________________ pcelari

Is there a specific reason you are using channel specific labels and not simply having one certificate, named in the queue manager object, that represents the whole queue manager?
If you have one certificate identifying the queue manager, all channels (that have not been told to use some other certificate) will use that one.
Using a channel specific label is only for times when you have some individual channels that need to use something different from the queue manager wide certificate for their identification, for example a channel out to a business partner. It is highly unlikely that you would want to have such an exception in setup for a cluster channel. Usually business partner channels would be non-cluster channels into a gateway.
Hope that helps,
Cheers,

Thank you! that seems to be exactly what I had missed. I do use the ibmwebspheremq<qmgrname> label in all non-cluster channels
So with "SSL Authentication" as "Required" in cluster channels' SSL setting, there is no need to populate the "Certificate Label" field? _________________ pcelari

That naming requirement has been lifted. You can name your certs "QMGR1 cert", for example. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

That is correct. The SSL Authentication field is unrelated to the channel's Certificate Label field. The SSL Authentication field is determining whether the other end of the channel should send a certificate.
If you ever set the channel's certificate label field you should always ask yourself whether you really need to, or whether the queue manager wide Certificate Label is already doing the job for you.
