Hi,
I am reading some documentation about CONNAUTH, and I still have some questions regarding the CHCKCLNT option REQDADM.
What I understood is that this attribute is used when the user ID is in the mq priviledge group, but am not sure in which cases would be advisable to use this attribute. |

CHCKCLNT(REQUIRED) means all users must supply a password
CHCKCLNT(OPTIONAL) means a password is not required, but if supplied it must be valid.
CHCKCLNT(REQDADM) means, if you are a privileged user id (e.g. mqm group) you must supply a password but if you are not, you get the behaviour as if for the OPTIONAL setting.
I would suggest using this value all the time, if password checking is your method of authentication, unless you go stronger and use REQUIRED for everyone. You never want to allow a remote privileged user to gain access to your queue manager without checking they truly are who they say they are.
Cheers,

Another option that does not work with z/OS MQ. _________________ Well, I don't think there is any question about it. It can only be attributable to human error. This sort of thing has cropped up before, and it has always been due to human error. |
