Hello, I am looking for comments on this configuration.
Mq 5.2, os/309.
I have two Qmgrs and two Cics's running on same LPAR. I don't have db2 for SHARED queues.
QmgrA services CicsA and QmgrB services CicsB. Both Qmgrs use the mvs movers.
AppA in CicsA needs to get/put to queueB QmgrB, AppB in CicsB need to get/put to queueB QmgrB.
Question. Would it be ok ( from a Good pactice point of view ) to have
QmgrA and QmgrB communicate through the mvs movers with send/recieve channels using remote queues.
Thank you. |

Hi,
Why not, one of my customers are doing in this way with +mio transactions aday, without any problems.
YOu can use either normal SDR/RCVR channels or create a cluster hosting the qmgrs, this will reduce the number of definations to create. (requires a bit of manual reading)
Why have two qmgrs on the same LPAR due to Performance or availability ? If you just had one, the communication overhead would be saved... $$$$
Just my $0.02 _________________ Regards, Jørgen
