A long story, but don't have relations with the CAFC vendor (was NETEC but now SDS) any longer and I'm not finding anything on the net. I'm going to convert off the batch CAFC Vendor product to the EXCI CICS interface - which is free. And company's like free.
I need a CAFC User Manual (any version would be fine) to look up some of the nuances of the CAFC product. Mainly what commands or how the GROUP option is used in CAFC to issue commands via batch.

Wow. I haven't heard that 4-letter acronym in mixed company in decades. I vaguely recall decommissioning it. My old-stuff box has a 1401 memory address decoder ring, but nothing for CAFC. Sorry.

Ya it’s amazing what you see consulting. Fortunately this client only uses it for taking VSAM offline and back for batch. So writing an EXCI program to replace this product will be very simple. I’ll just have to keep track of the status of the VSAM files in a VSAM file incase CICS bounces. It’s been a while since I wrote a program making VSAM calls. So, I’ll be pulling that off some brain cells that have been migrated for some time.  |
