Hi,
I just tried to change log type on a Qmanager instance (9.1.0.0 on AIX) from circular to linear, using the migmqlog command. According to the output the operation was successful. I am able to issue an rcdmqimg command to record objects successfully. Even in the qm.ini tells log type as linear.
But
Code: |
RESET QMGR TYPE(REDUCELOG) REDUCE(MAX)
AMQ8926E: Command not applicable for current log type.
|
What do I miss?
Thanks,

You did not change the qm.ini to set the Logmanagement=Automatic
You could have found this by creating a dummy qmgr with -lla.
There are also a number of attributes you may want to modify using alter qmgr to ensure automatic running of rcdmqimg and other log parameters...

Thanks!
So the REDUCE operation is used by automatic log management. Am I right?
