Hi,
I am installing WMQ Event Broker 2.1 for Windows 2000 SP3 (I have WMQ 5.3.1 installed already). I got an error from the "wmqpscreatebroker" command:
>wmqpscreatebroker SIMPLE_BROKER -i shcherb -a password -q QM_SIMPLE -n WMQPSBDB
"Receiving a BIP8050E - Unable to create MQSeries queue manager, when trying to create a broker".
I am Administrator and a member of mqm group. I created and started QM_SIMPLE queue manager manually , still it is the same error. I checked Event Viewe, queue manager logs and Event Broker log, nothing there.
Any ideas ?

I'm a little unclear on your problem. Are you saying that you have manually created and started QM_SIMPLE? When you try to create your broker, you get the error about not being able to create the broker? This doesn't make much sense to me. However, I'm not real familiar with WMQ EB install. The only thing that comes to mind is the fact that DB2 has an 8 character restriction (I believe) on userids. If you are using Administrator (13 characters), I'd suggest switching. I also remember (from ages ago) problems with MQ and 12 character names. You might look there as well. |

Hi,
Firstly, I tried to just create a broker and got this message, secondly I created queue manager manually and tried to create a broker again - same error. This doesn't make much sense to me either, but that is a situation.
WMQ EB code should be identical to WMQI 2.1 (this is indicated by the same version number.
My userid is shcherb, but it has admin priviledges and a member in mqm and all Event Broker user groups.
Regards,
