I want to use a remote broker database instead of a local one. How do I specify this? There is no hostname in the odbc.ini
Thanks ahead, |

gmabrito,
Although it is not advisable to have your broker repository database on a 'remote' server (machine), it is possible. Which type of database will you be using to connect to? You will still need the appropriate database driver on your broker server. For example, if you are to connect to an Oracle database, the ServerName will be specified in the .odbc.ini file. The ServerName entry will typically be resolved by using the tnsnames.ora file which must also reside on the broker server, or by an Oracle name server. In either case, the proper Oracle client software has to be loaded on the broker server. The server where the Oracle database actually resides will be either specified in the tnsnames.ora file or resolved by the Oracle name server. _________________ Regards,
