Is there a way to display a field from the global data container in the description field of a node.
When you display a member of an input data structure you can use
%Name% to display it in the client worklist, but I can't get it to work for the global container.

No, Global Container can be used for filtering, it gets written to the audit trail, but you can not use it the description. At least thur V3.3.2, I guess it's possible that this might change w/ 3.4 but I doubt it.
