I'm trying to set up 5.1 to communicate with 5.3.

When I try to put a message into the remote queue on 5.1, the message is moved onto the dead letter queue, with the reason 'MQFB_XMIT_Q_MSG_ERROR'.

Is it possible to send messages from 5.1 to 5.3?

You didn't mention your operating systems. Most of the MQ 5.1 platforms are out of support. However, I don't know of any reason that would keep a message from going from 5.1 to 5.3. I'd double-check your qremote definition and your xmitq definition.

Thanks for the reply - I will try re-creating all channels now. Both systems are running on Win2k.
