So, I was thinking and looking at the packaging between V8 and V9 and thought... These don't look to be the same package name. I bet I can install V9 in another directory without repackaging the RPMs.

Seems to be working. Old stuff still works unchanged. New stuff looks like it works. All on RHEL of course. When I list the packages installed, I see both versions and FPs for each.

How would I know if it is fubar?

Of course, now I have to address my start/stop scripts to take the Install into account.
