Hello,

I'm a newbie to the world of MQSeries, so please forgive the elem. question. I've been working on creating a channel between two server installations on AIX. I've been following the documentation in the Quick Beginning (Verifying a Server-to-Server Installation) manual (vers 5.2) and unfortunately am having problems.

I've defined the sender and receiver channel as described, made the appropriate changes for the inetd daemon, but am not getting the message on the receiver workstation. The channel stays up on the server machine after sending the message, but no message is displayed on the receiver and running the "amqsget".

Any chance there's a typo in the manual ? Any things I should look out for ?

I can send the queue and channel defs if needed....

Thanks in advance,

Ken

Check to see if you have channels running on both QM's. One should have a Sdr and the other receiver. Did you check your Remote queue definition. Check to see if the message landed up in the system.dead.letter.queue, in case it did not reach the respective local queue on the remote system. Can you see the message reaching the other end. You can use runmqsc and dis ql(*) curdepth to see if you got a message on the queue you expect it to, before issuing amqsget.

Are you using supplied sample amqsput to put a message?

Cheers.

Is your Remote Queue definition correct for the Local Queue on the receiver machine.

If not, look for the message in the Dead Letter Queue.

Cheers,

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm looking into these things right now. I'll follow-up with the resolution.

Problem solved.

Once I defined the channel with the port number (in the CONNAME), things worked like a charm. I am using the default (port 1414), so I thought I wouldn't need to define it. Now on to researching clusters...

Thanks for the suggestions.
