Laze:
Workitem could be in the disabled state if it is skipped during processing (due to transition conditions) and also I believe if it has not yet been reached in the flow. _________________ John McDonald

I believe also that it will show as disabled if another person has checked the same workitem out.
For example: Activity X is assigned to all people with in the ABC role. Everyone in the role ABC will get a work item on their work list. If one of those people issue a web client check out or a thick client start action the work item will show as diabled on all every other persons work list that it has been assigned to. If the person who has checked it out does a cancel check out action or finnishes the work item, but with out meeting the exit condition of the activity, then it will be in the ready state for every one in the ABC role again.
Good luck

Dave is 100% correct here, in fact this might be the reasib most disabled activities exist. _________________ John McDonald

Thanks Dave. That is what I happens to me. I was trying to understand it from the 'workitem state diagram'. No clue there.
