Hi,
We have 4 queue managers on a single AIX box. One of them is a 'client' qmgr - i.e. we have 100s of client connections to it. We hit a limit whereby the maximum threads per process of AIX is 512 when we have too many channels running to this one listener.
We have been advised to try inetd instead of runmqlsr to cope with the number of client (We cannot change web code to share connection between ports for multiple listeners.)
My question is: Can we run some listeners with inetd and some with runmqlsr on different ports on the same machine?

I can't think of any reason that you couldn't run both together. With WebSphere MQ 5.3, runmqlsr does some pooling of the connection threads. If you go with 5.3, you might be able to just use runmqlsr.
