Hi
I am designing an MQ cluster between 2 different networks which are connected by NAT at Firewall.
The configuration will have IPTs as the endpoints fronted by a FW which will do the NATTING
London and Spain side will have full repository QM(REP1, REP2) and NOT in MQ Multi-instance mode
London and Spain side will have partial Repository in MQ Multi Instance.
Please see the high level design diagram attached.
My query -
1) When the Partial repository QM (Japan) wants to connect to the full Repository (LON)
What conn names should it have on the CLUSSDR/CLUSRCVR channel.. ?
2) Is there any tips anyone can provide on the pit falls of this design...or anything to keep in mind when implementing this.

Every queue manager that belongs to a cluster is either a full or partial repository.
Any message put to any clustered queue will be sent directly between the putting qmgr and the receiving qmgr, using autodefined channels. Using clusters that span networks like this, you can easily have many channels going between many queue managers in every network.
So your Japan queue manager will not use a SFR/RCVR channel pair, it will always try and use a CLUSSDR/CLUSRCVR for any cluster traffic.
It's more usual to have one MI queue manager in each network that acts as a gateway. Or possibly you can use MQIPT to do that. I've not done a lot with IPT. _________________ chmod -R ugo-wx / |

sorry..typo on my question 1(which I have edited and corrected now)
I meant CLUSSDR/CLUSRCVR channel instead of SDR/RCVR..... |

The most logical choice would be the load balancer going into the IPT servers. As I understand these load balancers are known globally but will uniquely define a queue manager... Have fun _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
