Hi There ,
we are using MQ V7.5 on Linux . And have a Cluster setup between just two Queue Managers. we have set up two instances of a Queue shared in the cluster on both the Queue managers. The two apps which use these instances are source and destination. but the apps are supposed to use the Queue managers as Primary and DR as depicted in the scenario below.
but when we want to remove the local instance of source queue manager from the cluster and intend to send a message that doesn't work . due to the local instance still exist physically. But we cannot setup point to point as this is an existing environment and need to setup the new set of Queues in the same environment being already used by the apps. Can someone throw us the light like how we can resolve this local qmgr resolution ?
App X -> QM A --- QM A <- App Y (Primary - Primary scenario)
App X -> QM B --- QM B <- App Y (DR – DR scenario)

You really should not try to use queue manager clustering as a means to achieve DR, it's not what it's designed for (horizontal scaling and load balancing). And do you really have just two queue managers in a cluster, or do you mean that these two queue managers are the only queue 'targets' for the source and destination apps? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys.
