1) Install the server or client package
2) The haeder files and libraries are inside the installation directory
unix => /opt/mqm/inc, /opt/mqm/lib
windows => installdir/Tools/c/include, installdir/Tools/lib |

Hi,
I've installed Websphere MQ 5.3...I don't find any MQI commands under IntalledDir\MSI\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Tools\c\include...
I find the header files under include...

IntalledDir\MSI\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin is the directory that you are looking for. But this would only contain the MQ Executables which includes few command line commands. But this of course does not have or show the MQI calls. You need to read the docs for how to use the MQI calls in your program. You may even download a few samples from this site's repository and check them out for further assistance.
I guess you should not Post your question in more than one forum. Leads to inconsistencies.
Cheers

This is the important part. You can't use the MQI calls "interactively". You can only use them within a program that you write.
However, there are some MQ API Exerciser programs out there that let you experiment with the MQI calls. One comes with the Windows install, and is reachable as 'API Exerciser' from the 'First Steps'. |

However there are sample programs/(with source) that you can use to try out the API's
HPUX
/opt/mqm/samp source
/opt/mqm/samp/bin source
Windows
MQ_ROOT\tools\ source for various languages _________________ Jeff
