Howdy,
I never got a chance to use a requester channel. So pardon my ignorance on the subject
My question is why we need requester channel at all if the sender/server channel can have a trigger configured instead?
I realize that in the case of server-requester, any QMGR can receive messages from a server using requester's conname. But is there any real world example of that? also what about channel sequence thing in such cases? security ?
Thanks

The idea behind the requester channel is the traveling salesman scenario. If you have a Queue Manager (say on someone's laptop) that is not connected to the network very often then you probably don't want to configure your other Queue Managers to be constantly be trying to connect to it. Instead you use a requester channel and when you connect to the network you connect to your head-office Queue Manager and then retrieve any pending messages.
Does that make sense ? I don't think requester channels are heavily used but you do come across them from time to time,
Cheers,
Paul. _________________ Paul Clarke
