Hi MQ Users,

One of the most common questions we get here at MQGem is "Can I run MO71 on Linux?". Until now the answer has always been, "No, but we are working on it". Well the day has finally arrived. We are now pleased to say that both MO71 and MQEdit can now run on your Intel Linux machine. You can now try out the power, speed and flexibility of these two products on your favourite Linux box.

The magic is a thing called WINE. This is an implementation of the Windows environment that allows a huge variety of Windows applications to run on your Linux machine. What's more it is free, and you probably already have it installed! If you don't have it installed then installing it is trivial, usually something like yum install wine.i686. For more information take a look at http://www.mqgem.com/wine.html and https://www.winehq.org.

WINE does a fantastic job of allowing Windows applications to run largely unchanged on Linux. There are, of course, some minor changes though. So, what we are looking for then are some people to try Beta testing the products and put them through their paces.

If you already have a product Diamond licence then you can try out the product on Linux now. Just go to www.mqgem.com to download the latest version of the products and the WINE wrapper libraries.
