Hi all,

Here is a issue I recently noticed.

Issue Description:

We have a compute node with inputRoot in MRM Domain along MQRFH2 headers.

Step 1: Once, the message comes into the compute node, we Copy the message headers and add a variable to MQRFH2.usr folder and then propagate the message with PROPAGATE TO TERMINAL 'Out1' DELETE NONE option.

Step 2: Then an OutputRoot Body is created in XMLNSC domain and propagated, with statement Propagate to Terminal 'Out';, now when the message is processed by the following node, the MQRfh2.mcd.Msd is "mrm".

But when in Step 1, the message is propagated without DELETE NONE option, then in Step 2 we copy the headers once again to Outputroot, build the XMLNSC output body and then the message is processed by the following node, the MQRfh2.mcd.Msd is set to "xmlnsc" (by compute node automatically).

I would like to what to know, what DELETE NONE does in this case.

Thanks

PROPAGATE -- DELETE NONE keeps the message tree looking just like it was before propagation.
If you omit DELETE NONE the message tree before propagation and after propagation are quite different.

Have fun

Thanks for your response.

So even after copying the headers, I use propagate delete none and then create a OutputBody in a different domain, this domain will not be reflected in my MQRFH2 headers while being sent out the compute node on Return True statement.??

I think you have answered the question for yourself.

MQRFH2 is a HEADER. If you don't change it to reflect the change in domain then it might work or it might fail. Who knows eh?

When I was an Engineering Student I hated the Maths Lecturer for always going back to 'first principles' when developing theorems.
Later in life I came to realise that it is sometimes the only way to make a clear and maintainable set of code.
In most cases where I use PROPAGATE the first thing I do after that statement is
Code:

set OutputRoot = NULL;

Then I build the new message tree in a clear and unambigious way.

Yes it is a bit slower but sometimes it is worth it in the long run.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
