Hi All,
I am trying to create a database definition file from IIB Toolkit to connect to an Oracle 11 database, but when i select the driver and pass the required credentials and click on either Next or Test Connection it crashes with a java error message.
Below are the steps i followed:
1. Select the Data Design Project , then select the database as 'Oracle' , Version 11.
2. Click Next and it takes me to the Database Definition File wizard. I select New.
3. On the next screen, i use the default connection name ,
on the JDBC Driver dropdown i select - 'Oracle 11 - Oracle OCI Driver Default'
I fill in the information for SID, server, port, Username and Password and finally click 'Next' to only see the toolkit crash and I see a eclipse Java error. Same behavior happens when i click 'Test Connection' instead of 'Next'.
Please advise. |

would you like to share the Tooklit version (including the FixPack) you are using?
Have you looked at the list of fixes for later fixPacks to see if a problem in this area has been identified and fixed? _________________ WMQ User since 1999

You say you select the JDBC driver in the drop down. Where did you specify the location of the Jar files for the driver? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Hi, I was able to resolve this issue by creating a new JDBC Provider and used this JDBC Provider name on the connection name by unchecking the default one and it worked.
To answer your question, I selected the jdbc jar file from the oracle installation folder under the jdbc/lib folder .
Cheers |
