Does anyone have a quick easy answer of how many objects can exist on a WMQI 2.1 broker. More specifically, what is the maximum number of execution groups a broker can have? How many nodes can live in an exxecution group? How many elements can I have in an MRM Message Set? If these maximums are not defined, is there a list of how big each one of these elements will be? That was I can calculate how big my JVM Memory Heap should be and how big my MAXMSGLENGTH attributes on MQ should be. |

Well .. I don't think there is any limit imposed by the products in terms of:
1. The number of EG's a broker can have.
2. A number of nodes a message flow can have.
3. The number of messages a message set can have.
4. Number of elements a message set can have.
One should follow "good design" practices when designing their Message Flows/Message Sets and select appropriate hardware configuration to handle the processing load.
Configuration Manager has a limit of 2GB for the value set in MaxJVMHeapSize parameter.
You can set your MAXMSGLENGTH attribute on the queue to a very high value, like 100MB or 1 GB
Are you facing any specific problem? _________________ Kiran

No, not a specific problem, just more ofa question for planning stages of a broker domain. Looking into whether or not to balance the workload among two or more brokers (more lisence fees, a cash restriction imposed from above.....ha!) or to try to get all the flows and message sets in one broker. Thanks for the info. |

How many interfaces are you planning to have? Any online application that might use WMQI for transformation? Is it going to be a batch process or online process? If you have no time limitation to process data then things may look simple! How much volume are you planning on handling? _________________ Kiran
