Support pac MA7K will allow triggering of Lotus Notes agents.
This should work with either a Domino server or Notes client installed and will work with MQ client or MQ server installed. Use trigger FIRST and define the appropriate INITQ and PROCESS objects (application type NOTESAGENT).
Check the NT event log for any errors when implementing it. Don't forget to set the trigger data with the name of the Notes database and agent name in the MQ process definition.
I also suggest running the agent on a schedule as well - this sweeps up any situation when a trigger message has not been produced.
The triggered agent should not just process a single message but should keep issuing MQGET until the queue is empty.
You can watch multiple init queues with this support pac (which is an NT service) and these can even be on different queue managers (assuming a MQ client install).
Make sure the NT MQ trigger service runs under a NT id that corresponds to an id authorised to access the queue manager and queues.
IBM are being particularly unhelpful with Lotus Notes and MQSeries.
First they produce a superb product to integrate the two - MQLSX - then they withdraw it and suggest Java. Of course installations cannot re-write applications and the skill set required for Java is far higher than for Lotusscript. We shall continue to use LS for Notes/MQ applications.
Lotus/IBM continue their commitment to LS, IBM continue their commitment to MQSeries but "never the twain shall meet"? One could accept "functional stablisation" or even withdrawal of formal MQLSX support - but to actually remove the support pacs is customer unfriendly.
IBM have now extended the formal support for MQLSX to end 2003 - so I suggest you contact your IBM account representative and request the return of all the associated support pacs. If you open a call with the IBM support centre they may be able to send it to you.
Any IBM'er reading this - please take note of what your customers want.
