Yes, but you'll have to delete it then redefine it to do so. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

My estemed colleague is being somewhat facetious. You cannot alter the QMID. As he says, the only way to get a new QMID is to delete the queue manager completely and create a new queue manager. This will generate a new QMID, however you still have no control over the value. Even when creating a new queue manager you cannot choose the value of the QMID.

He might but as there is as Morag says, no way to set it,... he's going to be creating/deleting an awful lot of QMGRS if he needs a specific QMID (Could be millions and millions) _________________ WMQ User since 1999

No, because there's no reason to alter it. It's a unique identifier that is generated by MQ for internal use. Normally admins / uses don't need to pay much attention to it. _________________ Glenn |
