| Patrol and MQ Procs running as root on HP-UX 11 |

Here's a funny, we had problems with BMC Patrol connecting up to a machine recently. We got lots of 2035 errors (not authorised) even though the Patrol user ID is in the MQM group. I then noticed that all the MQ processes on this machine were all running as "root". I could run "runmqsc" no problem though, and do a "dis qmgr" and get sensible results. And yes, I've checked that the set-UID bit is on on the strmqm_nd executable, it's owner user is mqm.
On aother HP machine, same versions, I had restarted MQ using the Patrol user-ID. Now all MQ processes were running as this ID, not mqm. Needless to say, Patrol had no problem connecting to this Q Manager.
Anybody seen this before? Is this normal? We're mostly Solaris, and MQ 5.2 processes are running as MQ on those boxes.

Have you contacted anyone at BMC for support? I work with the Patrol for MQ product. Please let me know your company and I will get you assistance. By the way I am willing to help if you send me the exact way you installed. I ahve procedures fro install and rights for Sun Solaris. Please let me know.
