I have 2 nodes, one 5.2 , one 5.3. I have a Q on 5.3 node, and a remote definition of that Q on the 5.2 machine.

When I go to put a message onto the remote definition I get a 2059.

So before I go crazy can I get some assurance / pointers that 5.2 and 5.3 interoperate ?

PS , I can post to a remote Q on the 5.2 machine from the 5.3 machine.

Yes it's perfectly possible.

RC 2059 is queue manager not available. Is your local queue manager (i.e. the 5.2 version) actually running? Are you using client or server with your program? If you are using client, does the qmgr have a listener running? What is your connection specification for client? Does the SVRCONN channel exist?

For server, is it a non-default queue manager and you're not specifying a queue manager name in your program?

Can you run the IBM supplied example "amqsput YOUR_Q_NAME YOUR_QM_NAME"?

Does this report a 2059?

Can you run "amqsput YOUR_Q_NAME"

Does this report RC 2059?
