I'd suggest that you do more research to understand the history, purpose and value of ESB's.
Without rendering judgement on the blog to which you referred, I'd further suggest that you stick to well-known and authoritative sources, rather than a random blog. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Sometimes authoritative sources tell you what they want you to hear. |

If you read well between the lines, Andy is not anti-ESB. He just wants to reclaim the centralized control an institute in place an "EndPoint" control.
This may make a lot of sense when looking at a development control but would require a lot of specialized labor. It should work fine if you have a good relationship between functional analysts and ESB developers... but slows down somewhat the development cycle. No more "build me something like that"... First you have to have somebody define what "something like that" is.
There is nothing wrong with that if you have excellent governance and a team that addresses global issues. If you lack that kind of framework you're back in the land of departmental Silos... and confusion...

I seem to remember having this sort of discussion oh, around 23 years ago.
When I worked at DEC we had an internal project called 'Dialoague Bus' (later called Jabberwocky).
It was to all intents and purposes an ESB framework.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

And that kind of governance ends up looking a lot like a centralized ESB team. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
