I'm not sure there is a maximum that can be physically set but I would expect system resources will place a limit on the number. Hopefully someone from Hursley will be along soon to provide better information.

So you don't (as you first asked) want to know the maximum connections possible, but how many applications are in fact connected? Using bindings?

Why?

An application using a binding connection doesn't "connect" in the sense of something you could display. But the list of suspects is the list of MQ aware applications on the same server as the queue manager.

So what, exactly, are you asking us?

What information are you trying to obtain from your MQ set up?

What use do you plan to put this information to?

afaik, there is no parameter in MQ that sets the maximum number of simultaneous connections to a queue manager. The ultimate limit will probably be constrained by server resources. Its probably way over 10,000. I would question a design that would need to use very high numbers in normal operation.
