Hello Experts,

I was looking through the topics of "Version and keyword information for deployable objects" which is ac26520_.htm, but in these place developer has to manually make those value changes every time there is a change.

Can there be a way so that those gets updated from the version number of the source code repository, be it CVS, Clear case or TFS?

I was trying but unable to edit the bar file to put some version manually against the Application / Library through the manage tab for bar file editor. Is there a way we can do that?

You can use source control keywords in the $MQSI keywords
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSMKHH_9.0.0/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/ac26520_.htm?cp=SSMKHH_9.0.0%2F11-1-1-7

I forget how. there's probably a bunch of old posts here on the subject, that won't have gone obsolete.

Thanks for your response Jeff.

I tried to create a folder called META-INF and put a file called keywords.txt inside that directory under my Application.

This is the path of the file :
Code:
/ICE_AuditService_App/META-INF/keywords.txt

Content of the the file :
Code:
$MQSI Author=ESB Team MQSI$
$MQSI Audit Service Version=v1.0.9 MQSI$

When I rebuild the bar file in toolkit, I am not seeing the keywords file or unable to edit version before deployment.

Only thing I could do is to add comment via the manage tab, edit button.

Please point me where I am doing wrong.
Thanks in advance.

Isn't that crossing the streams? I've always thought that you list keywords in keywords.txt or add $MQSI keywords to the source files.

I'm assuming that ICE_AuditService_App is the name of the appzip or libzip and not the BAR file.

Hello Vitor,

ICE_AuditService_App is the name of my application.
I am trying to follow the infocenter link, but could not identify where I am doing the mistake.

Should l try to remove the $MQSI from keywords.txt file and try?

So is that one of the zip files or isn't it?

Why not just try it?

Why not additionally putting $MQSI keywords in the source? It's my preferred method because that's an easier way of getting CVS / ClearCase / SVN information into the source.

I tried removing the $MQSI part from keywords.txt but no difference. I am unable to see the versions through mqsireadbar or mqsilist with -d 2 command.

Then I would postulate it's in the wrong place in the BAR file.

Have you discounted embedding the version in the source via $MQSI?

I got to know this -

Quote:
It is necessary to rename and unpack the zip files, adding the
keywords.txt file manually and then pack the zip files and rename again.

There is no way to set the version in the bar file via mqsi commands.

I am not sure whether this method is sustainable for long best way to go forward or not..

Doesn't sound it

Like I said above, I always prefer to use $MQSI in the source.
