Hi All,
We have WMQI Broker 2.1 created on AIX5.1 with 4GB memory. We have observed that the real storage utilization by the Broker is quite high.
We have a default execution group with five message flows.
System always having only 10% to 12% idle.
12:09:54 %usr %sys %wio %idle
12:09:55 28 61 0 11
12:09:56 28 61 0 11
Average 28 61 0 11

1.What is basic Performance tunning in wmqi Side?

Thanks in Advance

raj

Hi,

I haven't seen WMQI on AIX , but one execution group is only one thread for WMQI. Try to separate the message flows into two or more execution groups.

Other idea: on IBM's website you can find some whitepapers about WMQI performance consideration.

I hope, I could help.

The NT m/c Utlilization quite normal and also it is 1GB m/c.But my AIX box having 4GB memory.

Not necessarily a problem - although you might want to apply any available CSDs in case there are any memory leaks cured.

However it is normal for UNIX systems to use up most of the real storage before starting to swap. The important metric is not the real storage utilisation percentage - but the swapping or paging rate. If that is low then things are OK.

I would strongly recommend applying CSDs - in the case of WMQI the original release was in some ways like a beta release - useful for testing but essential to wait for the first CSD before using in production.

This page lists the current CSDs (CSD04)
