First of all no one here really cares about what you need. Secondly high availability is not something you can answer in one word. You could try to find a genie and wish to achieve high availability or read through the infocenter/developer works articles and see if any of those help. Then if you have any more specific questions that you want to ask, you can try posting again on this form. Next time be a little polite. No one here is working for you. |

What kind of servers? Unix? Windows? What kind of hardware?
Have you searched here or Google for 'mq+iib+ha'? What have you found? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Please clarify this - message groups? Queue Sharing Group? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Explain what you want to get with "High Availability"?
Often it's better to have one QM, on a HA cluster, than it is to have two different QMs.
HA can be done a number of different ways.
Load balancing is another matter and without HA - you run the risk of losing unprocessed messages in the event of a single host failure. _________________ Well, I don't think there is any question about it. It can only be attributable to human error. This sort of thing has cropped up before, and it has always been due to human error. |

What does "controller level" mean? Is this in IIB? Or your application?
If you are using a CCDT with IIB, you must be at version 10. Is that correct?
What are you trying to achieve? Resiliancy of your application to maintain an active connection to an active queue manager? Or reliability of a queue manager? Or an IIB instance?

That's not *entirely* true. We're certainly not here to do anyone's work for them. But we - or at least I - wouldn't bother answering questions if I didn't care, at least a little bit, about helping people get what they need.

Mine, too.
I always hope that the OP will provide sufficient detail about the nature of the the problem or requirement, the research done so far, and the results of testing so far.

I was thinking more of a Western Ghost Town with tumbleweed blowing about in the wind. The only sound is the wind. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

Own your italian heritage 0.01 % and add some Enio Morricone to that sound track... you might have been thinking more specifically of Il Grande Silenzio _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

I was thinking more of some of the Nevada Ghost towns that are located off of Rte 50 (runs from Reno to Ely). Visit them in Winter and the only sound is the wind. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Spaghetti Westerns are a significantly under appreciated genre. _________________ chmod -R ugo-wx / |
