Hi there,

I'm currently need urgently copy messages from Qmgr1/Q1 to the same queue - Q1 but on another qmgr - Qmgr2, I'm using MO71, the problem is: after I choose a message from Qmgr1/Q1, when I press "Copy" button, I kept on getting error message like: "Message(0) : Error opening queue 'Qmgr2/Q1' RC(2086) Unknown object QMgr.". I did specified "Target QM" and "Target Queue", not sure why copy is not done.

BTW, the name of 'Qmgr2' is the name used in "IBM WebSphere MQ Explorer", I suspect, I have to define qmgr "Qmgr2" within MO71 somewhere, but got no idea how, can please provide some advice here ?

Thanks so much !
EricL

You also need a default route from qmgr1 to qmgr2.
i.e. default xmitq to qmgr2 and channel...

Have fun

MO71 will allow you to move/copy messages and direct the messages to another Queue Manager. But you still need to define a route in MQ for the messages to travel over (ie. a transmission queue and channel - or possibly clustering).

Cheers,
Paul

If you don't have a xmit queue and channel to the other QM, you can unload the messages to a file and then reload them on the other QM.

This can also be done using MO71 (unload/load) or with the underlying qload command.

For a large number of messages, running qload locally to the QM is much faster.
