When i run the MSI file thats is created bij Wise Package Studio its seen to be working.
But when I run mqclient it doesn´t give a reaction.

Is there already a MSI file from MQclient that i can use for my network?

Please expand on what you are trying to do.

Also, download the 5.3 client (MACV - see the support packs web site) and run it. It will self extract then launch itself. Howver, if you cancel the install and look in th directory it extracted to (usually c:\program files\ibm\source\...) you will see an msi install

MSI is not the same as Wise Installer. MSI == Microsoft installer.

Can you explain exactly what you are after and why?

We have new servers (windows 2003) and the clients are Windows XP.
We catch every application with Wise (Package Studio 5.1).
It wil be automatic installed by logging in on the client.
But we can´t catch MQclient V5.2.1 with Wise.
The client doesn´t work.
Thats wy i´m searching for a MSI file from MQclient.

You are still confusing because MSI is the Microsoft installer, which is what format the clients are really in.

No, I think you are saying that Wise will record the install actions then replay them. If this is the case, it wont work with MQ because the installation of MQ does more than copy on files and update registry keys. It does things with ACL's, userids, groups, DCOM etc which have never been captured by installation recorders.

The *ONLY* (supported) way of doing the install is to drive the installation package. Enough time and effort is done to ensure that this can be done silently.

Ok, to sum it up it wont work... (as you have found!)

You could try creating a local mqm group before install, but there will probably be other reasons it wont work as well.

And if you do do this, dont bother calling IBM for any support

Use searh...?

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=203&uid=swg24006105&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en

Bera in mind its in the same install format (self extracting msi format) as the 5.2.1 you were using.

And before you ask yes, you can use it to talk to any server, even back level ones...

Are you trying to capture the install with Wise to create your own customized installer/MSI file? If so, then maybe Wise may be missing some configuration settings/changes that are being made by the MQ MSI file or your interaction with the installer during the process. Document what you are doing at the screen and then double-check the resultant MSI script in Wise to see if all of your user mods are being tracked. If not, make the appropriate changes necessary to edit/modify the installation process.

If this is not what you are attempting, excuse the post.

FYI for all, MSI is actually a Wise technology for installation. Microsoft actually bought a license to use their technology in several Microsoft products. Now even InstallShield supports MSI technology since Microsoft has made it the defacto standard for installation packages with a self-repairing/recovery capability. It's cool stuff if you understand it and can really help you to create really cool customized installations for your own environment.

Cheers.
