Hi I want to migrate MQ version 7.0.1.9 to version 8.0.0 in red hat linux 64 bit. Can i directly migrate it to version 8.0.0 Or I need to do intermediate migration to version 7.5 and then to version 8.0.0. Also, what could be the migration plan to convert single instance QM to multi instance QM. |

You can't convert a single instance to a multi-instance.
Otherwise, the migration section of the knowledge center is really very detailed. |

Do i need to create a new queue manager on MQ 8.0.0 if MQ from previous version cannot be migrated as multi instance QM. |

Multi-instance required a lot of other actions and requirements like NFS and setting up the queue manager in that way
Creating a brand new queue manager would be the better option _________________ Regards

You can migrate a multi-instance queue manager from one version to another.
Unless the Knowledge Center says otherwise.
You can't convert a single instance queue manager at any version into a multi-instance queue manager.
Unless the Knowledge Center says otherwise.
Everything you need to know about migrating queue managers is actually in the Knowledge Center. Most if it is actually under the 'migration' topics. |

Apply fixpack 8.0.0.2 immediately after your initial software install. _________________ Well, I don't think there is any question about it. It can only be attributable to human error. This sort of thing has cropped up before, and it has always been due to human error. |
