Hi,
I would like to what info is stored in QMQMOBJCAT QMANAGER QAADMIN files in the QManager folder and how is this info used by MQSeries and how this info can help a MQ Administrator.
I have MQ ver 5.3 on Windows 2000..and the installation path is C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Qmgrs\pc103_QM\QMANAGER.....pc103_QM is my QManager name.
thanks,

Objcat holds the information of all the Objects that this QM has like queues.
How this could help an admin. I dont think anyone ever needs to touch these files at all. These are system files and they are used by MQ internally.
Cheers.

I am sorry, i dont know of any such utility. May be other members of the forum might throw some light on this.
But if you want you could download and use SAVEQMGR to save all the objects and their definitions, such as queues, channels etc. So, that in the event of a failure, you could always get back the definitions.
The utility you were looking for might do quite a lot more than SAVEQMGR. On other platforms you do have platform specific utils that do recovery of even messages. I am not aware of any such one on Win2k.
Cheers.
