Can I use the java PCF to check if a particular group or principal is an admin. I have been looking at MQCMD_INQUIRE_ENTITY_AUTH but I got stuck with that.

Specifically the part that states:

There is no MQ Admin command (PCF, MQSC, or control command) that allows you to check whether a user or group is privileged.
Can you elaborate why you care? Perhaps once we know why we can discuss a better resolution to your issue.
