Hi All,
I searched for this issue I am going to post in this forum and could not get the answer. I am a WMB developer and I use the WMB toolkit or Explorer for BAR file deployment. As part of our ANT scripts creation, we installed the LINUX version of toolkit on our DEV server for the mqsi* build commands and I could use the mqsicreate, override and readbar commands successfully and I wanted to use the mqsideploy command and it says that I do not have privileges to run this command and when I asked our admin, he says, either I should be given admin level access on this server(which is against our company policy even in DEV.. strange haa.. )or there is no way of accessing this command. When I am able to deploy using Toolkit, can't I deploy using command line utilities? Doesn't toolkit use the "mqsideploy" command behind the scenes? If not, isn't there any way I can run the mqsideploy command to deploy the BAR file without my userID having admin level access?
Giving the put permissions to my UserID to the queue SYSTEM.BROKER.AUTH.<EG> will not allow me to run this deploy command using command line?
I still believe that a product like WMB/IIB has the capability to provide the object level access granularity ... whether through UI based tools or through command line utilities. Am I wrong?
Thanks

You can try 2 things...
a) make sure you have run mqsiprofile before running mqsideploy i.e. run mqsideploy in an IIB command console...
b) try running the deploy through the java broker API instead...

I am not the admin of the system. I am a developer and my userID is not part of the mqbrkrs group. I don't think, I can run the mqsideploy command even if I run the mqsiprofile command as my ID is not part of the mqbrkrs group. Is there anyway, developers can run specific commands like mqsideploy, mqischangetrace, mqsireportproperties without having my ID added to the mqbrkrs group?
Does the toolkit use "mqsideploy" command behind the scenes when we deploy the BAR file using the toolkit or mqexplorer?
Thanks

Probably not. You can deploy via the Toolkit if you have the correct access to SYSTEM.BROKER.AUTH.<EG> - see below.

Yes - ask your admin to set up sudo access to the needed commands. He may prefer to add the commands to a little script and have developers use that; it comes to the same thing.

No, the Toolkit does not use mqsideploy under the covers; it uses the CMP. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
