HI.. Need a bit help on this :
I need to restore all artefacts running on MQ v5 into a new server installed with an upgraded version of MQ. How do I back up the existing MQ particulars and restore onto the new one? Will the saveqmgr command work? Is there any possible issues that might crop up? And is it at all possible to move the artefacts from MQ 5 to MQ 8?

Hi,
Honestly i haven't tried it out yet... I was searching for ways to do the task and I hot on this way... I am bit unsure whether MQ version 5 will support the command saveqmgr so wanted to check out on some expert opinion...

What does the MS03 documentation say?
MO71 can also export definitions.

You can also try the client version of dmpmqcfg against the Version 5 qmgr but there is no guarantee that at some point the qmgr will not choke on the command and stop sending additional info... My preference would be to go with MS03 and amqoamd -s if it exists at this back level...
