Hello All,

We are going to apply the 7.0.1.12 WMQ fix pack and for that I am collecting all the metrics that should be depending on this. We are using WebSphere Messages Broker 7.0.0.2 version which we are not going for patching. I do have searched so many IBM WEB Links to get the compatibility things between WMQ 7.0.1.12 and WebSphere Message Broker 7.0.0.2. Kindly let us know if we have any such documents or anybody did this kind of implementation?

Thanks,
Reddy.

Why not? WMBv7.0.0.3 is the lowest supported version of WMB and patching the underlying WMQ would seem to be the ideal oppertunity.

You'll struggle to find any documentation on compatibility between WMBv7.0.0.2 and anything due to it's unsupported nature.

It is not in scope as now to patch WMB. So, if i patch 7.0.1.12 on my WMQ, will that affect any abnormal things in WMB 7.0.0.2?

Thanks,
Reddy.

It could do anything from nothing to stop it working. By definition, IBM will not have tested the WMQ fix with that level of WMB.

Your only option is to test all the business critical things you do with WMB when you test the WMQ patch in a lower environment, and cross your fingers that WMB doesn't break in Prod.

But crossing your fingers that WMB doesn't break in Prod is what your site has been doing all these months they've been deciding that the WMB patch is not needed.

Thanks Vitor,

Yea, I had this option only after researching for few hours but still I was not that much confident to go into lower environment even that also makes some impact. Anyway, Please let me know meanwhile the best suggestions that we could do for this.

Let me try with this for now.

Thanks,
Reddy.
