Just want to know if Toolkit processing(w.r.t speed)or efficiency or any will differ for a Linux machine when compared with Windows.
Please let me know. Thanks! |

It entirely depends on 2 factors: the speed of your X11 link and the amount of memory you allocate to the toolkit...
Allocating a high min memory (-vmargs -Xms1024M ) may cause the jvm to not be able to start (depends on your available memory) but will cause a much faster load of the toolkit (eclipse).
Have fun _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Thanks for your reply fjb_saper
What about Efficiency ?
I am trying to judge to see if there are any significant advantages with Linux OS over Windows w.r.t Broker development. |

I don't understand the question. With regards to broker development (i.e. the writing of the code) it's the same Toolkit on both OS. The "efficiency" of the Toolkit is entirely reliant on the OS factors my worthy associate lays out.
If you mean "which is most productive", the answer would be the same for the question, "which OS will be more productive - Linux or Windows"?
It's more about system stability, availability of supporting tools, ease of use, etc, etc, etc, etc and probably has as many answers as there are people.
You want a better answer than that, give us a better definition of "efficiency" as it relates to your question. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
